Requests are filled first-come-first-served in roughly quarterly batches, but only when a block of the right size is available (several /24s can't be combined into a /22). Estimates (solid) simulate future batches by replaying ARIN's issuance history since 2020 against the current line, starting from each past quarter in turn; the cards show the average and the typical (25th–75th percentile) range. Dashed steps show how long the newest request filled in each batch actually waited.
How long requests actually waited, for each issuance batch: the median wait of requests of each size filled in that batch, with the middle half shaded. Before September 2025 snapshots were months apart, so which batch filled each request is reconstructed by simulation.
Measured in /24 equivalents (/22 = 4, /16 = 256). Larger blocks are split to fill many /22–/24 requests, so they make up most of the supply.
